Did Umar swear allegiance with Amir Momenan (peace be upon him) in Khadir Khom?

The allegiance Of Umar with Amir Momenan (peace be upon him) in Khadir Khom

After the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) selected Amir Momenan( peace be upon him) as his caliph and successor and announced it to the public, He ordered people to swear allegiance with Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and to congratulate him his new rank. According to narrations with valid document in the Sunni books, the second caliph was one of persons that came to Amir Al-Momenin (peace be upon him) and congratulated him his new rank.

Ghazali, the famous scientist of the sixth century, has written about congratulating the second caliph and his promise, but he forgot it after few days

One of sermons of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) is the sermon of Khadir Khom and all of the Muslims agree unanimously about its content. The messenger of God said ' ' Ali is the master and the guardian of everyone that I used to be his master ' '.  After the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) stated such remarks, he congratulated Amir Momenin (peace be upon him) in this way ' ' O ' Abu Al-Hassan! Congratulation! Congratulation!  You are my master and leader and other persons ' '. This remark of Umar demonstrates that he succumbed against the order of the prophet and the Imamate and the leadership of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and he was satisfied of the selection of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) as the leader of the nation. After days passed, Umar was influenced by his desires and his interest for headship and leadership. Hence, he changed caliphate from its main position and he made discord among the people of the nation and created grounds for ignorant period with leading troops, raising flags and surrounding other realms. In addition, such remark came true

They broke their allegiance, but they gained little thing in return and how bad they traded.

A lot of narrations in the Sunni books prove the remark of Ghazalei. We will mention two narrations along with the correction of its document.

The first narration: the narration of Bara Bin Azeb

Ahmad Bin Hanbel and a lot of Sunni dignitaries have narrated the story of allegiance with the second caliph

Bara Bin Azeb says ' ' we were with the messenger of God in Hajj Al-Veda. After they cleaned under trees, the order of fulfilling the group prayer was issued. Then the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) took the hand of Ali and put it in his right side and said ' ' Am I not better than the believers to themselves? ' ' they said ' ' yes ' '. He said ' ' aren 't my wives your mothers? ' ' they said ' ' yes ' '. He said ' ' Ali is a leader and I am his leader ' '. O ' God! Love anyone that loves Ali and be enemy with everyone that is the enemy of Ali ' '. Umar said ' ' Congratulations to Ali! Now you are my master and leader and all of the believers.

After narrating and explaining this narration, Mola Harevi says

Ahmad has narrated this narration in the book ' ' Mosnad ' '. The least degree of this narration is ' ' Good ' '. Hence, the remark of persons that have found faults in this narration does not have worth paying attention.

Analyzing the document of the narration

Efan Bin Mosalam Bin Abdullah Al-Baheli (died in 219 A.H.):

He is one of narrators Sahih Bokhari, Moslm, Abu Davud, Al-Termezi, Al-Nasaee and Ibn Maje.

Hemad Bin Salame (died in 167 A.H.):

He is one of narrators Sahih Bokhari, Moslm, Abu Davud, Al-Termezi, Al-Nasaee and Ibn Maje.

Ali Bin Zeid Bin Jodan (died in 131 A.H.):

He is one of narrators Sahih Moslm, other Sehah Sete and Bokhari in the book ' ' Adab Al-Mofrad ' '.

An Edi Bin Sabet (died in 116 A.H.):

He is one of narrators Sahih Bokhari, Moslm, Abu Davud, Al-Termezi, Al-Nasaee and Ibn Maje.

Abi Harun Al-Abdi (died in 134 A.H.):

He is one of narrators Sahih Bokhari, Moslm, Abu Davud, Al-Termezi, Al-Nasaee and Ibn Maje.

According to the rules of the Sunni scientists, the reliability and the fairness of a person that has narrated narrations in Sahih Bokhari and Moslm is certain as Ibn Hajar Asghalani has written in the book ' ' Fath Al-Bani ' '

Ibn Daghigh Al-Eid narrates a Hadith from Ibn Mafzal that was the master of his father and he said ' ' a person that follows the way of the narrators of Bokhari has passed the bridge.

Ibn Teimie Harrani has said bout Sahih Bokhari and Moslm

The content of Sahih Bokhari and Moslem is accepted among the leaders of Hadith and all agree unanimously that definitely, Hadiths available in these two books are from the messenger of God.

The correction of Al-Bani

The document of the mentioned Hadith is the same as the narration of Ibn Maje Ghazvini (from Hemad Bin Salame to Bara Bin Azeb) about Khadir that Muhammad Naser Al-Bani has corrected it in the book ' ' Al-Selsele Al-Sahihe ' '.

Rk: Ibn Maje Al-Ghazvini, Muhammad Ben Yazid (died in 275 hejira), Sonan Ibn Maje, v 1 p 43, hadith 116, chapter Fazle Aliya Ben Abi taleb Raziollah Anho, Researched by: Muhammad Foad Abd Al-Baghi, Published by: Dar Al-Fekr, Beirut

Al-Albani, Muhammad Naser, Sahih Ibn Maje, v 1 p 26, hadith 113, according to the software of Al-Maktabat Al-Shamelat

 Some Sunni scientists have claimed

This narration is weak and scientists have said clearly that Ali Bin Zeid and Aba Harun are weak and we cannot trust their narrations. There is Abu Ishagh in the document of the narration and he is Shiite and his narration is false.

    Al-Alusi Al-Baghdadi Al-Hanafi, Abu Al-Fazl Shahab Al-Din Al-Seyed Mahmud Ben Abdullah (died in 1270 hejira), Ruh Al-Maani Fi Tafsir Al-Quran Al-Azim Al-Sabaa Al-Mathani, v 6 p 194, Published by: Dar Ehya Al-Torath Al-Arabi, Beirut

Consequently, this claim has no basis; otherwise, we should ignore a lot of narrations of Bokhari and Moslem and other Sunni Sehah Sete.

The distortion of the narration of Ibn Maje and Abd Al-Razagh

Ibn Kasir Dameshghi Selfi narrates this narration in this way

Bara Bin Azeb says ' ' my messenger of God and I left there until we arrived Khadir Khom. The messenger of God sent a person to call me. When the people thronged, the prophet said ' ' amn 't I better than the Muslims to themselves? ' ' They said ' ' yes ' '. He said ' ' amn 't I better than your mothers before you? ' ' they said ' ' yes, O ' the prophet of God! ' '. The prophet said ' ' amn 't I better than your fathers in your opinion? ' ' they said ' ' O ' the messenger of God! It is right ' '. The prophet said ' ' amn 't I better than them? amn 't I better than them? ' ' they said ' ' yes, O ' the messenger of God ' '. Then the prophet said ' ' Ali will be the master of every one that I used to be ' '. O ' God! Love every one that loves Ali and be enemy with every one that is his enemy ' '. Then Umar said ' ' O ' Ali! Congratulations to you. Now you are my master and leader and all of the Muslims ' '. Ibn Maje has narrated this narration from Hemad Bin Salame and he has narrated it from Ali Bin Zeid and he has narrated it from Abi Harun Abdi has narrated it Edi Bin Sabet and he has narrated it from Bara. This Hadith has several ways from Sad (Bin Abi Vaghas), Talhe Bin Ubeidullah and Jaber Bin Abdullah. It has been narrated by Abi Saeid Khodri, Habashi Bin Jonade, Jarir Bin Abdullah, Umar Bin Khatab and Abi Harire.

Jalal Al-Din Siuti has narrated this narration from Ibn Maje

Unfortunately, the sentence

has not been said in current copies of the book ' ' Sonan ' ' of Ibn Maje and it has been omitted.

After narrating this narration, Zahabi has said

We did not find this narration in the book ' ' Mosnef ' ' of Abd Al-Razagh. Of course, Abd Al-Razagh may have narrated it in another book and Ibn Kasir and Zahabi have narrated it.

The second narration: the narration of Abu Harire

Khatib Baghdadi has written about the translation of Habshun Bin Musa

It has been narrated that Abu Harire said ' ' if a person fasts in the eighteenth day  of Zi Haje, the reward of sixty months will be written for him or her. This day is called the day of Khadir Khom. On that day, the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) took the hand of Ali and said ' ' amn 't I the leader of the Muslims? ' ' they said ' ' of course, you are ' '. He said ' ' Ali is the master of everyone that I used to be ' '. Umar Said ' ' O ' the son of Abu Taleb! Congratulations! Congratulations! Now you are my master and the master of each Muslim. Then this verse was descended ' ' today I have completed your religion ' '. This Hadith has been known as the narration of Habshun and it has been said that only he has narrated this narration whereas Ahmad Bin Abdullah has narrated this from Ali Saeid and he has narrated this from Abi Harire.

Matar Al-Varagh:

Zahabi has said about him

Matar Al-Varagh was an honest and pious leader. He was originally from Khorasan and lived in Basra. He was a qualified scientist and one of writers of the Quran and he did it properly.

And he has said in his another book

Moslem has narrated narrations from him in the book ' ' Sahih ' ' and he is one of scientists of this book and his narrations are good.

Shahr Bin Husheb:

Shahr Bin Husheb is one of narrators of Sahih Moslem and there is no question in his reliability as Zahabi says about him in the book ' ' Tarikh Al-Eslam ' '

Shahr Bin Husheb has no problem, his Hadith is good and his job is permanent.

After narrating a narration that includes Shahr Bin Husheb in its document, Termezi has said

Bokhari Tosikh Shahr Bin Ashub and considered his narration good and valid.

Ajali has written in the book ' ' Marafe Al-Saghat ' '

Shahr Bin Husheb was from Sham and one of followers and he was reliable.

Consequently, the document of this narration is completely valid and there are no faults in them.

Conclusion

The congratulation of people and the second caliph proves that the meaning of the messenger of God (peace of Allah be upon him and his descendants) from       was the guardianship and Imamate of «من كنت مولاه فعلي مولاه»       the sentence

Amir Momenan (peace be upon him) not his affection and loving him because if his purpose had been to love him, it would not have been necessary to congratulate. In addition, the second caliph says ' ' you have been appointed as our master ' '. It has been said in the narration of Ibn Kasir Dameshghi ' ' you have been appointed as the guardian of each believer ' '. However, loving all of believers is one of necessities that was descended before it and it was one of certainties. If we consider the word ' ' guardian ' ' as affection and friendship, this meaning will come to the mind that Umar says ' ' we have not been friend with you so far and you have been friend with us from now on ' '. Can the Sunni scientists accept this matter? Consequently, there is no way out that Khadir Hadith should be considered as meaning ' ' Imamate and caliphate ' '.

Good luck
