Answering to Sheikh Al-azhar’s remarks 01

Date : 19/1/1389

Professor Husseini Ghazvini

Each moment comes a new thing                                  newer than before

The attack that now has targeted the Shia culture and Ahl-ul Bayt may be only one of its kind in the last 15 centuries. The Shia culture has been attacked by the earth and the air, book, pamphlet, Internet and satellite. I was one month in Germany before Noroz and I had field research in relation to the satellites were active and produced program against Shia. My research result was:

3000 satellite centers are producing and broadcasting program against Shia.

Unfortunately, we don’t have an answering center or dear friends who think about answering questions, are launching centers that instead of plucking the eyebrows, are blinding the eye. Some satellites that are recently established with the aim of defending the Shia not only follow the Shia mission but also give an excuse to the enemies. We would expect that the number of the Shia satellite could be increased and be active in the field of answering to questions. Recently, some new satellites have been established and others are on the verge of being launched.

Subject of meeting:

The subject of our meeting is concerned about the remarks of Sheikh al- azhar being proposed several days ago. As dear friends know, Al-azhar University has a thousand-year history. This university has been established by the Fatemiin government in the 4th century. Although they had Ismaeali and Zeidi religion, Al-azhar University was based on the Sunni doctrine. During that time, this university has the first position in the word of Islam and now it also has the first position in the Islam world.

Of course, dear friends should pay attention to this point that Al-azhar University has three sections:

1.                        University president, 2. Board of scholars and university professors, 3. Sheikh al-azhar. Sheikh al-azhar has the highest position of the Al-azhar University and the university president and the board of scholars and professors are his subordinates and he is elected by the Egypt president.

Tantavi was the former sheikh of Al-azhar and during his trip to Saudi Arabia on the 18th of the month of Isfand had a stroke and died. He was buried in the Baghi cemetery and after his death, Dr. Ahmad Tabib who was the University president was elected as the Sheikh Al-azhar. Mr. Ahmad Tabib has graduated from Al-azhar University and he also has a doctorate in philosophy from the France Sorbon University and actually he is the chief of Sofiah sect in Egypt.

Sheikh Al-azhar remarks

He announced in an interview on April 3, 2012 that:

We want to open the Al-azhar University gateways to Shia university students and have interaction with Iran so that we send our students in Iran and they also send their students to our country. We are interested in this kind of interaction between the Shia and the Sunni to continue the approximation being created by Sheikh Shaltot in Al-azhar. He proposed some discussions which were unexpected in an interview on Alarabiah satellite channels. [1]

On this week Friday Prayer, Ayatullah Bushehri has also referred to these remarks that:

“Sheikh Al-azhar sowed the seeds of discord and schism among the Islamic Ummah”.

If you go to the Vahhabi websites, you should see that a detailed attack has targeted Ayatullah Bushehri with the excuse that Qom khatib has spoken against Sheikh Al-azhar.

Sheikh Al-azhar said on that channel:

We are trying to prevent from spreading Shiism in Egypt and other Islamic countries. We have reached an agreement with Iranian scholars to abstain from annunciating the Shia school.

The word, Tabshir (annunciation) refers to Christians’ invitations but in Shia religion, the word, Tabligh (proselytization) is used. Whoever uses the word Tabshir, link the Shia religion to Christianity. The remark of Sheikh Al-azhar is the following:

He has noted some points:

1.                      We don’t allow that Shia religion would be proselytized in Egypt and other Islamic countries.

2.                      We have reached an agreement with Iranian scholars and this agreement is in line with the culture of Islamic Republic of Iran not allowing the Sunni to proselytize their religion.

3.                      …..

Of course, he has claimed this statement and it is not known to be true. Supposing that this claim is true, the reference of these cases is clear and some people are chanting slogans in Iran that in order to reach unity, we should abstain from Ali’s (peace be upon him) explicit and proven Caliphate and  seminarians of Hoze Elmieh should justify the legitimacy of Abubakr and Umar Chaliphate. This interview has been given in detail on Nahjul Balaghah Magazine NO. 5 and my answer can be seen on No.6.

The first answer:

Now on some satellites, newspapers and websites belonging to the Sunni, even on their Friday Prayers, usually they say:

During these 30 years, we, the Sunni, are not allowed to proselytize and advance our religion and Iran’s broadcasting is a Shia scholar’s monopoly and magazine and books are such and such and we have complained.

First, I have expressed statistics provided on all websites. These Statistics have been announced by the Publicities Organization and some other centers including the Shia and Sunni mosques. These statistics announced in Isfand, 1387 have been provided on the Tebian and Tabnak websites and so forth:

Nearly, 70 thousand mosques are established in Iran of which 60 thousand and 10 thousand belong to the Shia and the Sunni respectively. Of 72 million Iranian people, more than 99% are Muslim and of these, 7% are the Sunni. Based on these statistics, nearly there are 5 million Sunni in Iran who have 10 thousand mosques and on the average, 1 mosque has been established per 500 Sunni Muslims. Sistano Blochestan Province with its 3546 mosques has the greatest number of mosques and Kordestan and west Azarbayjan have been assigned 1768 and 1465 mosques respectively. Provinces including Hormozgan ,Golestan, Khorasan( all the three provinces) , Kermanshah,Bushehr and Gilan have been allocated 1032, 1017,746, 341, 106, 89 mosques respectively. In Kerman and Khozestan Provinces, Sunni fellow-countrymen have a number of mosques. The Shia population is over 66 million people that on the average, there is 1 mosque per 1100 Shia Muslims.

The following statistics are related to the early in the last year:

In Sistano balochestan Province, on Friday, 256 Sunni Friday Prayer are held while in this Province, the Shia have less than 15 Friday Prayer.

Still they say we don’t have freedom.

The Sunni have members in the House of Parliament and constituent assembly. They have members in all military, cultural branches and so forth. They have been assigned different positions including judge, mayor, member of city council but they claim that they don’t have freedom and cannot work and proselytize.

Regarding Tehran Province, we have said that the Sunni want to establish a number of mosques but Islamic Republic of Iran from the time of the deceased Imam has said we don’t allow the Sunni to establish a mosque in Tehran. As in Riyadh and al-Madīnah al-Munawwarah (the radiant city) and al-Mecca al-Mukarramah (the Holy Mecca), the Shias are not allowed to establish a mosque. Even in Qatif and Ahsa, most of the Shias mosques have been closed. About one or two month ago, the Shias were performing prayer at the house of one of the Shias who were prevented from their performing prayer. The Shias are prevented from performing group prayer at the house of the scholars. Of course, this is a political issue and we have nothing to do with political issues. Saudi Arabia has recognized not to allow doing these actions and Islamic Republic of Iran also has recognized in this way and don not allow.

Also based on the announcement of our country’s Friday prayer leaders, the Sunnis perform the Friday prayer on Friday at 14 areas of Tehran Province.

Therefore, what Dr. Ahmad Khatib , Sheikh al-azhar has said:

We confront with the spread of Shia culture, because Iran tries to confront with the spread of the Sunni culture,

is unfolded and such a thing is not true about  Iran.

Of course, a number of Sunni scholars have been invited to Iran’s Radio and Television organization and they have said their remarks but this is not the case that whoever is a though person and is not courteous could be invited to the Radio and Television  organization and would say whatever he wants.

When Mr. Larijani was the head of Iran’s Radio and Television organization, I along with Ayatullah Khazali went to him and insisted and said that instead, the dialogue between the Shias and Sunnis would be held by Almostaghellah Channel, you would hold a dialogue session at the Radio and Television organization and try to invite a number of moderate and knowledgeable Sunni scholars to say their remarks and also we would say our remarks so that our youths can be rescued from this bewilderment. But he refused to do this. Even this program was supposed to be held two years ago, but it wasn’t.  But one of our persistent demands which is beneficial to the Shias and Islamic Republic of Iran is that the radio and television organization would invite the moderate Sunni scholars to express their views and we also express our views. As Dr. Motahharri has said:

Scientific discussion are not the cause of schism but the cause of unity.

Launching the Velayat Satellite Channel

Regarding to Satellite, we also made great efforts after consultation with the high sources of authority resulted in launching a satellite named Velayat Satellite and now this is broadcasted by Tel Star in America and Canada and nowadays it is supposed to be broadcasted in Europe and America. Then we talked to the Specific Religions and Mahdaviat Centers and other friends and so forth and consulted with them and God willing, until summer we want to launch a satellite that can get the high sources of authority’s agreement and we should not be  extremist and show what we have learnt from Imams(Alayhem al-slam) and also show what Imam Reza has said:                                :

إذا عرف الناس محاسن كلامنا لاتبعون[2].

During the last years which I have produced programs on Salam Channel, maybe one- hundred-thousand Vahabi and Sunni youths converted to the Shia religion with the blessing of those programs. This is true of Christian youths. If you have visited the site recently, you can see that we reported news about a Christian youth (whose father was from India and had Hindu religion and his mother from Philippines and was a Christian). He came to Qom and converted to Shia religion whose image is in all sites. Before him, there was a young Christian from Australia who converted to Shia Islam whose image is in all sites. An American youth called us and with our help became Muslim a Shia. Every week, from inside and outside of the country, whether Christain, Sunni or Vahhabi come to the Ahlul Bayt (Alayhem alsalam) religion in large multitudes. These also are the blessings of the luminous culture of the Ahlul Bayt (Alayhem Alsalam). Shia religion has originated from the Quran text and is in accordance with the Holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his household) true tradition. When we express these statements, they cannot say anything and they either should take the path of defiance or the path of obedience. Thank God, 90% of Vahhabi youths surrender themselves to reasoning and are not defiant and search for saying something.

I have frequently said:

I was performing tavaf near the Beit al-haram that a youth put his hand on my shoulders beginning to insult and swear the Shia. I just looked at him and said nothing. Then I said, may I speak to you 5 minutes? He said: yes. I spoke to him 5 minutes. I swear by God and Vali Asr and the soul of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his household), he threw down his head shamefacedly and kissed my shoulder and forehead and apologized. One of the Vahhabi youth who was there, said: can we go to a corner and speak to each other? We went to a corner and about 15 Vahhabi university students gathered around us and I spoke to them from 22:30 until 3 at midnight. Our discussions continued for a few nights. Even they invited us to Um al- ghora university dormitory and we were speaking to them until noon Azan (it was Ramazan). God is the witness that Vahhabi youths are more interested in scientific discussions than are our youths. Now the Shiite culture is embraced this way.  Vahhabi youths affiliating with the leading Saudi Arabia cabinet figures call us regularly and promote the Shiite culture at various universities. The issue of the Shiite culture spreading has penetrated to Al- Saud families. Neither having large advertisements nor having great success, we witness that the Shiite culture has been greatly embraced in the international arena. According to what is evident in traditions, the world should be ready and pave the way for the appearance of the Hazrat. Public and general interest of the world, God willing, make ready the world for the appearance of the Lord of the Age ( our souls be sacrificed to his coming). Nowadays, the name of Mahdi is popular in Islamic countries even among the Sunni. The Sunni name their children Mahdi while such a thing had been unprecedented during 50 years ago.

One of the questions of that Australian youth was that: what makes a difference between the Sunni savior and the Shia? I read a few words from the Bible and Shia. God is the witness that his eyes became tearful and said:

Now, Christian youths tired of going to church and hearing repeated remarks of the priests and bishops. They are thirsty for listening such remarks. If you come there and speak to them as you spoke to me, you will see that Christian youths are converted to the Shia religion in large multitudes. While saying goodbye, he just said one statement:

I hope to be a good messenger for Ahlul Bayt in my country, Australia.

Now the global interest is in this way.

I continue my discussions in the next session, God willing.

-May Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you-

Professor Husseini Ghazvini

Subject: answering to Sheikh Al-azhar remarks 02

Answering to doubts- Feyzieh school- 26/01/1389

Our previous discussion was concerned about the new Sheikh Al-azhar , Dr. Ahmad Tabib. He is a Sufi believer and the head of majority of Egyptian Sufi. The Sufis have had a good relationship with Shia in history and are interested in Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them). Their records don’t show a sign of extremism toward Shia. He said in his second public program that;

We won’t let any country spread the Shia culture as the Sunni are not allowed to proselytize their religion.

…. Expansion of the Shia culture results in our youths converting to the Shia religion and incidence of conflict or murder.

In previous session, we reported statistics of Shia and Sunni mosques regarding to the first part of his remarks. Now we report the second part:

Secondly:

The Sussin’s Hozah-e-ilmiah are 7 times as much as the Shia’s ones. My statistics belong to 4 years ago:

Shafiis : 72 hozah-e-ilmiah and 3894 seminarians

Hanafiis: 358 hozah-e-ilmiah and 17247 seminarians

May Mr. Sheikh Al-azhar tell us, in which of the Islamic countries, have Shias been treated in the same way as Sunnis treated in Iran? Give us an example. In which of the Persian Gulf countries, even in Syria claiming to have friendly relationship with our country, are our Hozah-e-ilmiah free in the same way as Sunni Hozah-e-ilmiah?

Therefore, these statistics reject his first remark.

Second answer:

He said we don’t let any country spread the Shia culture because of two reasons:

1.                      Expansion of Shia culture results in youth converting to Shia religion.

2.                      It results in incidence of conflict and murder.

Firstly:

About 4 years ago in Jordan, a seminar and the World Assembly of Islamic Jurisprudence were held. About 68 scientific scholars of 27 Islamic countries have participated at that seminar and 8 religions were proclaimed as the official religions of which, 5 were Sunni religions and 3 Shia religions.

Sunni religions: Hanafi, Maleki,Shafii,Hanbali, Ebazi(Khavarej).

Shia religions:Twelver Shia,Zaydi Shia, Ismaeali Shia

We say to Mr., Sheikh Al-azhar that;

If Shia is one of the Islamic and official religions, why do you refuse the Shia culture expansion?

Secondly,

You have taken a position which Sheikh Shaltoot had taken and his Fatwa has not still expired that officially has issued a Fatwa:

Obeying the Shia religions and Fatwas of Shia scholars is similar to obeying Hanafi, Hanbali, Shafeii, and Maleki religions.

Your approach is 100% opposite to Sheikh Shaltoot‘s position, the former Sheikh Al-azhar.

Thirdly:

According to these two answers, Shia religion has been considered as one of the 8 items official religions and Sheikh Shaltoo has allowed obeying the Shia religion. You have had in your History that one scholar being follower of Hanifi religion has converted to Shafeii religion and vice versa. Now, Transition from one religion to another religion ia an ordinary and official issue among your scholars and leaders. If Shia religion is one of the 8 items Islamic religions, what’s wrong with this? : One scholar or a youth someday recognizes the Shafeii religion as a right one and someday the Shia religion. Why are you indifferent to a youth changing his religion from Shafeiism to Hanafism? But why are you clamoring against a youth converting to Shia religion.

Fourthly:

Mr. Sheikh Al-azhar! Dr. Ahmad Tabib! If you look at the religions’ history, you see that your oldest religion is Hanafism .Abu Hanifah died in 150 Hijri and after his death, the Maliki religion was appeared. Malik Ibn Anas died in 178 Hijri and after his death, the Shafeii religion was appeared. Mohhamad Ibn Edris Shafeii died in 204 Hijr.  Finally after his death, the Hanbali religion was appeared. Ahmad Ibn Hanbal died in 241 Hijri. But Shia is proud of its religion being Muhhamadi Al Hodoth and Alavia Al Bagha. Shia is proud of the fact that the Islam seed has been sowed alongside the Shia seed by the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) .As a result of the Holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his household) efforts during 23 years, as the Islam tree was fertile, the Shia tree was also fertile. Shia and Islam are two sides of a coin. Shia is proud of the fact that in your book, more than 40 traditions have been reported by the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) that:

يا علي! أنت و شيعتك هم الفائزون.

يا علي! أنت و شيعتك في الجنة.

يا علي! أنت و شيعتك خير البرية.

يا علي! أنت و شيعتك . . .

We have these traditions in relation to the Shiism. What do you have regarding Sunnism? How many traditions do you have in relation to obeying the Abo Hanifah, Malik Ibn Anas, Muhammad Ibn Edris Shafeii and Ahmad Ibn Hanbal religions? These religions were not announced as the  official ones until the 7th century, Hijri and these 4 items religions were considered as the official ones in  the 7th century , Hijri.

This is our short answer to Mr. Sheikh Al-azhar.

The second answer: detailed

Firstly:

An international conference named World Assembly of Islamic Jurisprudence was held in Jordan in Jmadi-us-sani of the year 1427 Hijri. 72 countries were invited to participate in this conference. A statement was issued in this conference and signed by 68 persons. I will read some paragraphs of this statement:

The first paragraph:

Everyone who obeys one of these 8 items religions is considered as Muslim and nobody is allowed to excommunicate him /her. His/her wealth, life and honor should be safe. According to Sheikh Al-azhar Fatea, nobody is allowed to excommunicate the adherents of Asharism and true Tasavvof and Salafis and also each group of Muslims who believes in God and his Messenger and accepts the Islam and Faith pillars and does not deny the religion essentially.

The second paragraph:

The commonalities among Islamic religions are more than the differences among them. The followers of 8 items religions having consensus about basic principles of Islam believe in the one and only God. They have faith in Holy Quran, the word of God, reveled by Him and free of distortion. They believe in Muhammad’s (peace and Salam be upon him) prophet hood and Islam pillars: Declaration of Faith (the shahadah) prayer, Zakat (almsgiving), fasting during the month of Ramadhan and pilgrimage to Mecca. They believe in Faith pillars: having faith in God, His angles, His reveled books and Messengers. Differences among religions’ scholars are rooted in secondary parts of the Islam and some of the pillars. These differences can be considered as the source of mercy.

Each day, some of the Vahhabi Mofattis argue in satellite that Shia believed in Quran distortion. The World Assembly of Islamic Jurisprudence has officially announced that none of the Islamic religions believe in Quran distortion. According to what the late Grand Ayatollah Khoii (R.A) has said:

حديث تحريف القرآن حديث خرافة و خيال، لا يقول به إلا من ضعف عقله[3].

None of  our noble scholars including Sheikh Mofid  (R.A) , Sheikh Sadogh (R.A), Seyyed Morteza (R.A), Sheikh Toosi (R.A), AND Sheikh Tabarsi (R.A) and contemporary jurisprudents  believe  in Quran distortion. Although someone among Shias like the late Noori (R.A) writes the book, Fasl al-Khetab, his vigorous student, Sheikh Agha Bozorg Tehrani (R.A) says:

Our professor didn’t want to prove the Quran distortion but to say that we don’t have Christians’ view toward Enjil.

Supposing that his ijtihad was related to Quran distortion, hundreds of Shiite scholars and jurisprudents rejected his book. Mr. Abu Davood Sejestani, one of the 3th and 4thcentury Sunni scholars, wrote a book named Al-masahef.How many Sunni scholars did reject this book? In this century, Mr.Khati being an Al-azhar scholar, wrote a book named” Alforghan Fi Tahrif Al Quran”. How many Sunni scholars did reject this book?

The issue of Quran distortion should be focused on. The Vahhabis are also focusing on it.

There are also differences between our Islam and Faith pillar and Sunni’s Islam and Faith pillars. We have Mutavater traditions reported by Imam Bagher (peace be upon him) and other Imams that:

بني الإسلام علي خمس علي الصلاة و الزكاة و الصوم و الحج و الولاية و لم يناد بشئ كما نودي بالولاية[4].

When we say Islam, we mean having faith in God and his Messenger. If someone don’t believe in God and his Messenger, it is meaningless to say he is Muslim.

There are differences among the Sunni religions. The difference between Hanafi and Shafeii religion is more than that of the Shias and Sunnis. The difference between Hanbalis and other religions is more than that of the Shias and Sunnis.most of the Hanbali jurisprudents have issued a Fatwa that:

من لم يكن حنبليا فليس بمسلم[5].

Everyone who doesn’t have Hanbali religion is not Muslim.

None of the Shia jurisprudents has issued such a Fatwa. We separate the Islam discussion from Faith issues. We consider non- Shia persons Muslim. It means that we consider everyone declaring the Shahadatain pure and Muslim. We also consider his spouse Halal. We consider permanent and temporary marriage with him permissible. We consider praying behind him permissible (according to Fatwa issued by some jurisprudents), while most of the Shafeii jurisprudents have issued a Fatwa that:

If someone prays behind the Ahnafs, his prayer would be void. The Ahnafs also issued a Fatwa opposite of their Fatwa.

Some jurisprudents have issued a Fatwa:

The Safeiis should pay Jaziah because they have been considered as Ahle Kitab.

In summary, the difference among the Sunni religions is by far more and deeper than that of the Shias and Sunnis. In the last year, we discussed about the statistics of these differences and murders among the Sunnis.

The third paragraph:

Everyone who is not competent to issue a Fatwa is not allowed to issue it.

According to what Malik Abd o Allah, the king of Saudi Arabia, has said in a conference held at Al – Mecca Al- Mokarramah in Aban 1387:

Most of the Mecca Mofattians not being competent sleep at night and issue an excommunication Fatwa in the morning and when they understand their Fatwas are inconsistent with the Quran and tradition, they are unwilling to give up their Fatwas.

Pay attention to the excommunication Fatwas issued by Moffatians toward the Shia, Motazelah and Sofia; the number of them is too much. Now, about 659 million Sunni Sofiis are in the world that according to Moffatians’ viewpoint, they are Kafir and unclean. Their excommunication sharp border takes aim at not only the Shia but also most of the Sunni sects.

The fourth paragraph:

We should establish a friendly scientific dialogue and discussion among the 8 items religion followers to decrease the differences gap and increase their commonalities.

The fifth paragraph:

We should emphasize that each of the Islamic religions respects other religions and no one is permitted to excommunicate and humiliate other religions or speak to them bitterly and coarsely. I only declare the name of Saudi Arabia’s and Egyptian scholars. Saudi scholars who signed this statement are:

1.                      Mr. Dr. Muhammad Ali Al- bar : Malik Fahad’s Medical Scientific Center

2.                      Mr. Sheikh Abd o aAllah Soleiman Ibn Mani: a member of Board of Kabbar Saudi Arabia’s scholars

3.                      Dr. Hassan Ibn Muhammad : Human sciences college of Malik Abd Al- Aziz University

4.                      Professor Nabil Abd 0 Allah Nasib: vice president of Jaddah  Islamic Development Bank Supporter

5.                      Dr. Muhammad Habar : professor of Al – Figh Al- Mogharin at Saudi Arabia’s  Legal Higher Education

6.                      Dr. Muhammad Ibn Yahya : assistant professor of  Malik Fahad National Security College

7.                      Dr. Ahmad Abd Al- Alim: researcher of Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly

8.                      Dr. Abd Al- Bagher Ghamar: researcher of Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly

These scholars participated in the World Assembly of Islamic Jurisprudence on behalf of Saudi Arabia and signed this statement and announced that:

The Shias’ religion is one of the official religions and nobody is permitted to excommunicate or offence them.

The following scholars had participated on behalf of Egypt:

1.                      Dr. Ali Jomee Muhammad: Egyptian Mofatti

2.                      Dr. Jafar Abd Al- Eslam : Head of Egyptian Islamic Universities Communications

3.                      Dr. Shoghi Ahmad Donya : Manager of Business College of Al-Azhar University

4.                      Dr. Muhammad Abd Al –Monem Abo Zaid: professor of Islamic Economics College of Yarmuk Egyotian University

Therefore, the following remark of Sheikh Al- Azhar:

We don’t let any country to spread the Shia culture

is inconsistent with the statement of the World Assembly of Islamic Jurisprudence announced in Jordan. This statement has been signed by several Egyptian leading figures including Egyptian Mofatti.

Secondly:

You who don’t recognize the Shia religion as an official one and do not let the Shia to be active in Islamic countries, should know that Egyptian and other Islamic countries’ leaders (Scholars) have announced that Shia religion is one of the Official Islamic religions and in some areas, the Shias’ defense of Islam was more than the Sunnis scholars’ defense of Islam and Shia scholars’ services were more than Sunni scholars’ services.

I will give you a few examples:

1.                    Sheikh Muhammad Shaltoot, the former Al-Azhar Sheik

He issued a Fatwa that:

إن مذهب الجعفرية المعروف به مذهب الشيعة الإمامية الإثني عشرية مذهب يجوز التعبد به شرعا كسائر مذاهب أهل السنة[6].

Shia religion is like other Islamic religions and it can be obeyed. Obeying the Shia jurisprudents’ Fatwas is permitted as obeying the Sunni religions jurisprudents’ Fatwas is permitted.

Also, this Fatwa is mentioned in Al-azhar University’s official magazine on the same date. If you search in websites, you will see that his Fatwa is given at more than 200 websites.

One of Dr. Gharzavi’s (president of Muslim Scholars Union) favors was this:

This Fatwa assigned to Sheikh Shaltoot is a lie. When I was with him, I did not see such a thing. It is not mentioned in his books and in any magazine.

Accidentally, one of the Qatari scholars has answered to this remark that is mentioned in 13 Masdars of Sunni Masdars and newspapers of the time of Sheikh Shaltoot. Sheikh Shaltoot’s Fatwa has been reflected in these newspapers and magazines.

One of the Vahhabis has said:

“This is vilification of Sheikh Shaltoot and has been written by Mr. Ghomi in Resalat Al –Eslam Magazine”.

Then, he has scanned the page under discussion and has said unfounded remaks. Nobody asks him:

If really such a Fatwa has been issued by Sheikh Shaltoot, and if it really was a lie, then, Sheikh Shaltoo, himself would deny that. This magazine has been published under the supervision of Sheikh Shaltoot. This topic has been given in Al- Azhar magazine.

2.                    Sheikh Muhammad Ghazali

3.              Muhhamad Rashid Reza

He is a publisher of Vahhabi culture in Egypt. He is not on good terms with the Shia. He has also made snide remarks about the Shia religion in his book, Almenar Tafsir. The late Allameh Amini (R.A), in the fifth volume of the book, Alghadeer, has answered his remarks in detail. He has said:

4.              Hassan Al- Bana

He is the founder of Ikhvan Al- Moslemin party in Egypt and says:

إعلموا أن اهل السنة و الشيعة مسلمون، تجمعهم كلمة لا إله إلا الله و أن محمد رسول الله و هذا أصل العقيدة، و السنة و الشيعة فيه سواء، أما الخلاف بينهما فهو في أمور من الممكن التقريب فيها بينهما[9].

5.     Imam Muhammad Abo Zohreh

He is an Egyptian contemporary leading figure and now his views have been discussed in Universities as fixed Sunni views representing Sunni beliefs. He says:

6.     Seyyed Muhhamad Tantavi:

He was an Al-azhar Sheikh before the arrival of Dr. Ahmad Tabib and says:

إن المسلمين سنة و شيعة مؤمنون بالله و بنبيه و إن إختلاف الآراء لا يقلل من درجة إيمان الأشخاص[11].

7.     Dr. Ahmad Hasri

He is an assistant professor of Al – Figh Al- Mogharin in Shariah and Law College of Al- Azhar University and says:

We should not speak carelessly and excommunicate the Shias without studying their book and views and say unfounded remarks against them.

If we investigate Shia jurisprudence, we will find slight differences between Shia and Sunni jurisprudence.

8.     Abd Al- Fattah Al- Maghsood

He is one of the famous Sunni figures and says:

إن علماء الشيعة الأفاضل هم الذين لعبوا أدواراً لم يلعبها غيرهم في الميادين المختلفة، فكافحوا و ناضلوا و قدموا أكبر التضحيات من أجل إعلاء الإسلام و نشر تعاليمه القيّمة و توعية الناس و سوقهم إلي القرآن[13].

Shia scholar had been leaders of defending Islam in such a way that other scholars have not taken the duty of Islam leadership in this way. They have made the greatest efforts and given the greatest sacrifices to exalt the Islam flag and teach people and bring them toward Quran.

I have noted the name of 30 or 40 famous and leading Sunni figures who have confessed that Shia religion is an official religion.

Thirdly:

It was recorded on the history that many of the Sunni scholars were following one religion one day and another religion the other day.

1.                      Abo Soor

He changed his religion from Hanafi to Shafeii

2.                      Ibn Abd Al- Hakam

For the first time, he changed his religion from Maliki to Shafeii and again from Shafeii to Maliki

3.                      Abo Jafar Ibn Nasr

He changed his religion from Hanbali to Shafeii

4.                      Tahavi

He is one of the Sunni leading figures and his book, Al- Aghidah Al- Tahavi, is the textbook of all Islamic sects even Vahhaviat. He changed his religion from Shafeii to Hanafi.

5.                      Samani

He is the writer of the book, Al- Ansab. Ha changed his religion from Hanafi to Shafeii.

6.                      Khatib Baghdadi

He is a renowned Sunni scholar and the writer of the book, Tarikh Baghdad. He changed his religion from Hanbali to Shafeii.

7.                      Amadi

He changed his religion from Hanbali to Shafeii.

8.                      Ibn Borhan

He changed his religion from Hanbali to Shafeii.

9.                      Ibn Fars

He changed his religion from Shafeii to Maliki.

10.                 Ibn  Dehan

He changed his religion from Hanbali to Hanafi, then from Hanafi to Shafeii.

11.                 Ibn Daghigh Eid

He is one of the renowned Sunni jurisprudent. He changed his religion from Maliki to Shafeii. [14]

The most prominent Sunni figures were usually prancing among religions and changed their religions from this one to that one and nobody criticized them.

If Shia religion is considered as one of the official religions, why are you impatience and discomfort able and issue the excommunication order, when a Sunni changes his religion to Shia? If Shia religion is one of the official religions and if they believe in the oneness of God and prophet hood of the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household), what makes a difference, when a jurisprudent changes his religion to Shia?

Fourthly:

Dr. Ahmad Tabib! If your four religions have been developed from the second half of the second century (and your oldest religion is Hanafi and Abo Hanifah has died in 150 Hijri And most of the contemporary Sunnis are Hanafii and your last religion is Hanbali belongs to the third century and Ahmad Ibn Hanbal has died in 241 Hijri), the Shia are proud of the fact that Shia seed has been sown by the Holy prophet’ hands ( peace be upon him and his household) in Islamic Land.

Shia religion is Muhhamaddi Al- Hodooth and Alavi Al- Bagha. We have about 49 traditions in this regard the word Shia has been reported by the Holy prophet (peacebe upon him and his household) during the time the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household); this is our religion. You would give one tradition or reason or document for your religion. Don’t you say, you are Sunnis? So give us one reason belonging to the Holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his household) Sunnah that the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) has said: everyone who has one of the four religions is an Elysian person. The Sunnis have many dreams of this kind. They have given dreamlike cases regarding Abo Hanifah, Malik and Ahmad. Losing their hopes in Quran and Sunnah, they search for these dreams.

Shia’s reasons on Shia religion legitimacy

Our reasons are rooted in these traditions:

The first tradition

Ibn Asaker (a renowned Sunni narrator) has narrated with his own document that the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) put his hand on Ali‘s (Salamoullah Alayh) shoulder and said:

و الذي نفسي بيده! إن هذا و شيعته لهم الفائزون يوم القيامة[15].

I swear by God whom my life is on His hand! Ali and his followers (Shias) will be saved on the Judgment Day.

The second tradition:

According to the following Noble Verse:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَ عَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ[16]

The Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) said to Ali (Salamullah Alayh) that:

تأتي أنت و شيعتك يوم القيامة راضين مرضيين[17].

You and your followers (your Shias) will come on the Judgment Day, while you are happy with God and God is also happy with you.

The third tradition:

It was recorded in a few Sunni authentic books that a number of Sahabah were famous as Shiatu Ali during the time the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household).

The late Mr. Abo Hatam Razi (one of the Loghat and Quranic Sciences scholars died in 205 Hijri) has said that:

أن الشيعة لقب قوم كانوا قد ألفوا أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب في حياة الرسول و عرفوا به، مثل سلمان الفارسي و أبي ذر الغفاري و المقداد بن الأسود و عمار بن ياسر و غيرهم  و كانوا يقال لهم: شيعة علي و أصحاب علي.

Shia is a title for those who became familiar with Ali during the time of the Messenger of Allah like Salman Farsi, Abozar Ghaffari, Meghdad Ibn Asvad, Ammar Ibn Yasser and the others who have been considered as Shiatu Ali or Ali’s Sahabah.

Alzynah Book,p 259

The fourth tradition:

Mr. Muhammad Kord Ali (the head of Arab scientific assembly in Damascus and one of the trustworthy and great scholars of all Islamic religions died in 1293 Hijri) says:

عرف جماعة من كبار الصحابة بموالاة علي في عصر رسول الله صلي الله عليه و سلم، مثل سلمان الفارسي.

Some of the graet and old Sahabah like Salman Farsi were famous for Velayat and Shiatu Ali Ibn Abi Talib durin the time of the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household).

The fifth tradition:

Abo Saeed Khodri says:

It was ordered that people should obey 5 pillars but they obeyed only 4 pillars and abandoned one pillar. It was asked: what are the four pillars? He said: prayer, zakat, pilgrimage and fast. It was asked: What is the pillar abandoned? He said: Velayat-e Ali Ibn Abi Talib, it was asked: Are people required to obey Velayat-e Ali Ibn Abi Talib along with thses 4 pillars? He said: yes, these individuals were also Shiatu Ali:

Abozar Ghaffari, Amar Ibn Yser, Hazifah Ibn Yaman,Khazimah Ibn Sabet, Abo Ayyub Ansari, Khalid Ibn Saeed Ibn As, Gheis Ibn Saad Ibn Ebadah.

This tradition is not narrated by the Shia and Abo Saeed Khadri is not also a Shia and these books do not belong to the Shia.

The sixth tradition:

Dr. Sobhi Saleh (the writer of Sharhe Nahjol Balaghah and one of the Sunni Lebanese scholars) has reported:

كان بين الصحابة حتي في عهد النبيk شيعة لربيبه علي، منهم: أبو ذر الغفاري و المقداد بن الأسود و جابر بن عبد الله و أبي بن كعب و أبو الطفيل، عمر بن وائلة و العباس بن عبد المطلب و جميع بنيه و عمار بن ياسر و أبو أيوب الأنصاري[19].

During the time of the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household), a number of Sahabah who were Shiatu Ali, educated by the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household), like Abozar Al- Ghaffari, Al- Meghdad Ibn Al- Asvad, Jaber Ibn Abdollah, Abi Ibn Kaab, Abo Al-Tafil, Umar Ibn Veale, Al- Abbas Ibn Abdol Mottallib, Jami Banih, Ammar Ibn Yasser and Abo Ayyub Al- Ansari.

Therefore we tell Dr. Ahmad Tabib, Sheikh Al- Azhar, panic- stricken by expansion of Shia religion in Egypt or Islamic countries and conversion of Sunni youths to Shia religion, that his remark is not only inconsistent with the statement of the World Assembly Islamic Jurisprudence in Jordan but also with the former Sheikh Al- Azhar views (Sheikh Shaltoot) and the former Sheikh Al- Azhar Sheikh (Tantavi) and great Sunni scholars. Shia religion has this honor but Sunni religion doesn’t have.

Furthermore, Shia religion is proud of obeying the following hadith and also the Holy prophet‘s (peace be upon him and his household) saying that Ahl Al- Bayt (Alayha Salam) and Etrat are equal and Edl to Quran.

Dr. Ahmad Tabib! With all due respect to you and people agreeing intellectually with you, tell us, which of the Holy prophet’s sayings (peace be upon him and his household) do you listen do you obey? Has the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) said the following words:

إني تارك فيكم الثقلين كتاب الله و أصحابي.

that you have replaced the Etrat with the Sahabah. Do you have a tradition narrated by the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) that Sahaba’s sayings are exactly the same as the Quranic Verses? Furthermore, you yourselves say that the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) has forbidden writing his traditions and has said “do not write my traditions”. You have said in your books that the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household) said at the last moments of his glorious life:

هلم أكتب لكم كتابا لن تضلوا بعدي.

The second Chaliphah said;

Or:

The book of God is sufficient for us and we do not need the writings of the Messenger of Allah.

According to your assertions, after the death of the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his household), based on the quotation of Ayeshah ,  Ammol Momenin, the first chaliphah ordered to gather all traditions. The number of them reached to 500 traditions. He burned all of them and ordered nobody is permitted to quote the Holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his household) traditions. The second chaliphah also ordered nobody is permitted to quote the Holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his household) traditions. Abdollah Ibn Masood beat and jailed Abo Darda because he was quoting the Holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his household) tradition.

The dignitaries of you say until the end of the first century, until the time of Umar Ubn Abd Al- Aziz, the Holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his household) traditions were not written. The first one issuing the order of hadith writing was Abd Al- Aziz. Even during his time, his ordered did not become feasible. It became feasible during the time of Ibn Shahab Zohri in 125 Hijri.

Your traditions have been written 100 years after the death of the Holy prophet (peace be upon him and his households) but our pride is that the Holy prophet’s (peace be upon him and his households) traditions are written by Amir Al- Momenin (Alyhe-s Salam) and Ahlul Bayt (Alyemo-s Salam); Sahifah of Amir Al- Momenin (Alye-s Salam) and Sahifah of Fatimah Zahra (Alyha Salam). We have our first book, written by Ibn Abi Rafe, Ali’s Sahabah. We have a book written by Shalim Ibn Gheis, Ali’s Sahabah. Our pride is that during the time of Aemmah (Alyhemo-s Salam), more than 66oo books have been written of which, 400 Mother and Masdar books named Ossol Arba Meah have been chosen. The book of Kafi Koleini Taboyeb is considered as 400 items principles. This is our and Shia religion glory.

Question:

Who is Ayatollah Borghei, his books are puplicized by Sunni satellite Channels like Noor Channel?

Answer:

He has not been an Ayatollah. During the time of Hazrat Ayatollah Borojerdi (R.A), he was one of the Qom Hozah Elmieh professors and taught Rasael and Makaseb. After the death of the late Seyyed Abol Hasan Esfahani (R.A), he insisted that his uncle to be one of the sources of authorities. But Ayatollah Al- Ozma Borojerdi (R.A.) became the sources of authority and he ( Seyyed Abol Hasan Esfahani) started insulting to Ayatollah Al –Ozma Borojerdi (R.A.). Even at Imam Mosque (R.A.), he has used obscene statements in his lessons, Rasael and Makaseb, against Ayatollah Al- Ozma Borojerdi (R.A) and he was beaten soundly right there by the seminarians. After that, he became obsolete and homebound in Qom.  Insulting to the Highly- prized world Shia source of authority, Ayatollah Al- Ozma Borojerdi (R.A), he did not courage to go out of his house. After a very long time, he went to Tehran and became the prayer leader of one of its mosques. Right there, he translated a book by Ibn Taymiyah, leader of Vahhabism,to Persian and he dealt his religion in exchange for receiving money from Saudi Arabia. Despite of the fact that he had written 35 books to prove Shia’s legitimacy, he also wrote about 40 books to prove Vahhabi’s legitimacy and reject Shia religion. Some of our jurisprudents like Hazrat Ayatollah Milani (R.A.) officially issued a Fatwa against him for apostasy. Some time ago, one of his tapes was broadcasted in satellites while insulting to Hazrat Ayatollah Milani (R.A.) obscenely. It is not expected that either a Akhond or a street youth to insult obscenely to a source of authority.  After the Revolution, he was pursued and exiled by Special Court of the Clergy because he had said some words against the Revolution and Shia government. At the end of his life, he was contrite for his previous actions. Individuals who had seen his death agony including Mustafa Tbatabaee (the leader of Tehran Vahhabis ) and one of his friends publicizing Vahhabism for a period of 18 years and (changed his religion), have quoted that:

We paid a visit to Borgheii and saw him while reading his testament for us. He had written: “I was wrong. I believe in the Imamate of the Twelve Imams from Amir Al- Momenin (Alyess Salam) to Agha Wali- e- Asr (may our souls be sacrificed for him)”. Hearing these words, Mostafa Tabatabaee became greatly sad.

He said:

One time I also saw Mr. Borgheii reading the book of Tarikh Tabari and shedding tears. When he saw me, he said: “I shed tears for Ali’s innocence that how innocent he was?!”

Mr. Borgheii willed that:

If permitted, bury me at the shrine of Shoaib (Imam’s descendent) in Kan village (about 20 kilometers of Tehran).

When he died, his testament was seen by a scholar of neighborhood and his testament regarding his burial was given to that scholar. He showed interest in this issue. Noticing Mr. Borgheii’s penitence, he held an extensive funeral procession. Even I heard that during his funeral procession, a few camels and sheep were sacrificed because he had turned in the bosom of Ahlul Bayt. Although the Vahhabis consider a blasphemous action, not only going to Al- Alammeh ziarat but also Imam’s descendent, now his tomb is located at the shrine of Shoaib (R.A) (Imam’s descendent).

Unfortunately, his video tapes containing anti- Shiism remarks and recorded in Tehran have fallen into the Vahhabiat‘s hands and have been broadcasted on the Rangarang Channel for a while and now are broadcasted on the Noor Vahhabi Channel as an Ayatollah. Even a few nights ago, their program expert was saying:

One of the renowned and elite Shia scholars, Hazrat Ayatollah Al- Ozma Borgheii, unique personality of Shia history, after a very long time, understanding Shia religion is void, selected the Sunni religion.

Unfortunately, they exaggerate this issue and nobody reacts against them.

Peace, mercy and blessings of God be on you

Do we, Shias, have religious duty regarding shirking to publicize and promulgate true Islam (Shiism) reasons and examples?

Answer:

Hi:

Dear friend

Defending of religion is the duty of those who have power to do this, and only those who do not have this power, are disavowed of this duty.

Liar is God’s enemy.  You falsely write the Sunni statistics. More than 12 million Sunni people live in Iran and of 1 billion and 750 million Muslims, 1 billion and 400 million people are Sunnis and 170 million people are Shias. The majority of Shia Muslims live only in 4 countries including 1_ Iran, 2_ Iraq, 3_ Azarbaijan, 4_ Bahrain. Just in Iran, Shia religion is considered as an official religion. Iran possessing about 60 million Shia Muslims and Pakistan and India having about 45 million Shias have the highest position of having Shia religion adherents. But the overwhelming majority of Sunni Muslims live in 52 Islamic countries. Indonesia having 210 million Sunni Muslims and Pakistan possessing 145 million Sunni Muslims have the largest number of Sunni Muslims. Also India as a non- Islamic country possessing about 150 million Muslims has the largest number of Sunni Muslims.

Mr. Reza

Wow!!!  How many land and population statistics do you have!!!

Please forget Iran and busy yourselves with your land from north to west.

Believe that we neither interested in Omar nor have happy memory of him and his agents.

Believe in Omar and his Caliphate is of no use for us because neither Omar nor his Caliphate and ideas can explicate an issue in Islam.

Leave us comfortable and to our own devices.

If we had wanted to follow the Caliphate of Omar after 400 years, we would have followed it up to now.

Busy yourselves with Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Somalia and countries having great love for Omar.

O’ Ali helps us.

I am sorry for those who are Sunnis. For what?! First of all, they betrayed the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him and his households) apparently and secondly they fought against Hazrat Ali (Alyhe-s- Salam).

Really, why do you (the Sunnis) go astray? Why don’t you accept that you cannot even smell the perfume of the Heaven without accepting the Velayat of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (Alayhe-s- Salam)? Read the Hadith Al- Kasa and      ?????

Peace be upon Muhammad and his Households/ O’Amir- Al- Momenin! Peace be upon you/ peace, mercy and blessings of God be on you/ peace be upon Hussein and His children and companions/

Finally, we, Shias, will be triumphant.

Hello.

Does this sentence, التسنن مع محبه علي لا يجمعان, mean the Sunnis don’t like Ali? Therefore, are their claims showing affection to Ali, false?

Answer:

Hello

Dear friend:

The meaning of this sentence is like to what we are saying about all the Sunnis that they really are not really Sunnis; and if they understand the reality, they will abstain from Sunnism! On the other hand, it means that whoever knowing caliphates’ oppression and injustice to Ahlul Bayt, select sunnims, certainly is not Hazrat Ali’s friend!
